Writer, Traveler, Musician, Environmentalist

Ever since I can remember, reading and writing have been my favorite ways to engage with the world. From writing about the Denver Nuggets in middle school to studying writers like George Orwell and Kurt Vonnegut in high school, I have always pursued a deep understanding for writing and its ability to shape our world(s).

At Emory University, I pursued my craft further as a Creative Writing major, and I picked up a major in Environmental Science after learning about the all-important issue of climate change. I’ve followed these areas of study into environmental communications and poetry, which provide different but essential ways of interacting with the emerging Anthropocene. In spring 2024, My curiosity led me to IES Abroad’s Environmental Studies and Sustainability Program in Freiburg, Germany, and living abroad reshaped my life just as writing has. That summer, I had the privilege to be a Social Media and Communications Intern for Oceantic Network, aiding the nonprofit in promoting the benefits of offshore wind. During these crucial months of 2024, I began to discover the paths I might take to make a positive impact on the world.

When I’m not writing for communications roles, I’m usually writing poetry or reviews for my music blog, LaneListens. I’m always trying to find new ways to explore and portray the complex interactions that shape the reality of this world. Whether I’m writing ecological sci-fi concepts for my heavy metal band, Trash Compactor, or highlighting bands speaking out for the environment on LaneListens, my inspiration comes from the truly fascinating origins and potential impacts of climate change. How can we work towards a better future for everyone? That’s the question I’ll always try to answer.
